I saw it a while ago. This is another formulaic Jackie Chan film. Someone once said if you have seen one Jackie Chan film you have seen all Jackie Chan films.

Some parts of that film just seem downright silly.

like it or not jackie chan is one of the very few actors doing his own stunts..and people like him for that. And NO once you've seen one of his movies, you have not seen all of his movies. Ask mel or bruce or arnold or any action movies actor to do their own stunts and they probably reply..."hum... let me talk to my agent..." About the downright silly quote...it's ASIAN HUMOUR man...

It's not Asian humor. It's the typical copycat Hollywood try to be funny but aint no funny humor. And I stand by what I said, some of those moments are downright silly.

I have watched Operation Condor a couple of times. Jackie Chan films always have a hot leading lady, and that girl in Operation Condor is on fire!

In the 50s, 60s, and 70s, Hollywood made a lot of movies with Asian themes that incorporated a lot of deprecating "Asian humor." Ever since these "Asian humor" has come to be associated with Asian films, Asian culture, and Asians in general. Being an Asian, I don't find these "Asian humor" funny, I actually find them insulting.

Jackie Chan formulaically incorporated elements of these "Asian humor" into most of his movies. Well, I guess this formula still appeals to a lot of audiences, Eastern and Western alike.

Where do you guys get your Asian DVD? Blockbuster and netflix don't seem to have them.
I got a copy of 7 Swords from ebay (DVD9). Great adaptation of the novel.

I speak Chinese, so I usually for the mainland released VCDs/DVDs that are commonly sold in Chinatown, pretty cheap.

There a lot of Japanese movies dubbed in Chinse, not English, and they are also widely available alongside Chinese DVDs.

But if you require decent English subtitles, you have to go the mainstream route. Most Asian released DVDs have horrendous English subs.
