Wife and I saw it at the theaters a couple weekends ago. Really enjoyable film with loads of talent, but the cinema didn't have the volume cranked nearly high enough. Even she complained about that. I tried my best to ignore that, but it really did hamper the experience. We are definitely going to purchase it when it comes out on home video. That way we can view it the way it was meant to be...loud! Gorgeous movie by a first time director, and I highly recommend it IF you're into musicals. Hugh Jackman absolutely kills it of course. Man, is that guy talented.
More than anything though, and this is not the movie's fault, it reminded me and my wife about the importance of HOME theater. Where the sound can be SOOOO much better. I kept finding myself wanting in vain to reach for my remote control to turn up the volume. FML. Really fun movie though, even if a bit cheesy, which is part of its charm.
Who else saw it? Thoughts?
