The follower to Yamaha Z9 - any news??

I'm into my second Yamaha unit (2600 after a 650) and I've been looking at the Z9 as well. However since it is becoming a bit old Yamaha is bound to come out with a new flagship soon.

I've looked around the web but found nothing on the subject yet.

So I thought I'd post a thread to pick your brains instead.

I too have been trawling the web for any news on the new yammy flagship, but to no avail!! I think it'll probably be a month or so before there's any news/piccies/specs

Well, the word is, the new Yamaha flagship will be called Z11, and it should include all the latest Dolby and DTS decoders and have onboard HDMI 1.3 - according to avs

Yes - it's going to be the RX-Z11 which will be launched in October. It's apparently being shown to dealers now end Jul/early Aug and then to be premiered at CEDIA in September.

This will surely be something extra to write home about. HDMI 1.3, 4-6 HDMI inputs and 2 out, full high quality scaling to 1080p and a bag of goodies rumoured to get most audiofreaks drooling...

The only problem that this all comes at a price. 5000-6000$ would be my guess.

I've seen it. It's massive! Roughly 80lbs. From what I can remember it's got 4 HDMI and 1 Monitor out. USB front and back. HD Radio, XM, Network ready for the MusiCast. iPod hook-up. I wasn't told the power but I'd guess 170 per channel. 7 channel plus 2 add'l 2 zone powered outputs. The speaker terminals are on the left and right sides like the z9. That's about all I can remember seeing/counting.
