Pioneer VSX-1021 VS Yamaha RX A1000

Just like the title states. I am replacing my Onkyo receiver of 6 years, and I am having trouble deciding. The Pioneer is $550 and the Yamaha I can get for $630. I just can not figure out which is the better option. I want something that will last a long time with excellent video and sound quality without too much heat as it will be in a open backed cabinet. Thanks for any help I plan on buying one of these very soon. :D

Order of importance to me.
1. Sound Quality
2. Video Quality
3. Build Quality
4. Features

Hi. Do they both have everything that you want? For example, do they both have all the connectivity that you want? Consider that the Pioneer only has a subwoofer pre-amp output, while the Yamaha has 7.2 pre-outs. The Yamaha also has more HDMI inputs/outputs.

My personal opinion - I'm a Pioneer fan, but I'd go for the Yamaha between those two...especially if you're paying full retail for the Pioneer, which you would be if it's $550.

EDIT - You can get that Pioneer for less than $550, at least in the U.S. As one example, Amazon has it for $497.

It is full retail on the pioneer but I just found it on amazon for $500. The Yamaha does have the better connection suite. I was mainly concered about the video pass between the two. I want my video to come thorugh clean and am not sure which one is better for that. And the heat the Yamaha is massive compaired to the pioneer I was afraid it would put out loads of heat.

Just bought the A1000 $630 shipped form newegg. I sure hope I like the sound as it said no returns for refund just replacement. Now I just need to figure out the speakers. I will be making due with my Onkyo HTiB speakers until then, they are 130w @8 so they can handle the new receiver for now.
