the end of my denon 871 remote

hi guys,

eventually, my denon rc - 871 for my reciever (denon avr 5800) has given up the ghost. The little micro processor is unrepairable and is considered dead.

store parts suggests that a rc - 995 is a near replacement, as my old remote is no longer in manufacture. Boy, but i hate the word 'near replacement'

this is where i get worried as i think a rc-995 is a denon uni remote of sorts and will have trouble switching between dts,thx, matrix, dolby pro logic and dolby prologic 2 on an avr 5800 system

anybody been in the same position ?
or has overcome this with a neat idea ?

Universal remote

Take the opportunity to upgrade to a nice Harmony universal remote. I have one of the URC remotes and recommend them, but the entry level models require the origional remote to learn the IR commands, which you don't have.
