I'd recommend a miniDSP (or this one if you also need a DAC)and a pair of these:

If you are curious to know what Purifi Audio is and how it measures:
Yes did consider but that will be too much of a clutter and mess. Would like to avoid that if possible.

Possibly, but it would provide what you requested: "most neutral and transparent and lowest possible distortion "
In addition, a MiniDSP solution would provide you with more flexibility than any built-in solution, including optional room auto-calibration.

Instead of two large boxes, three smaller boxes is a big difference? Is fan noise a consideration? Where are you?

Hmmmmm........
Will also be power limited. Unless I go up to something packing NC2000 or similar.

Yes that is correct. Would have liked if it was limited to 1 unit. But well if have to go 2 boxes then probably can go 3 boxes. Few extra cables.

Nah. Fan noise not important.

Reliability is important though. Like Long term running. So wouldn't it be better to have less failure points.
