The Apple TV App only ROKU streamer can only play movies in all channel stereo

I have an ONKYO TX-RZ820 AVR, and I stream to it from a ROKU device. I subscribed for an Apple TV App free trial on my ROKU streaming device. I tried to watch the new Tom Hanks movie "Greyhound" in THX Digital Surround. There was picture, but no sound. When you went through all the sound formats, the on screen readout for the sound format would go crazy. Again, it would produce picture, but no sound. It only played sound when you put it into "stereo", or "all channel stereo." Every other App & channel on the ROKU was working fine. The cable box was working fine also. The Apple TV App on the ROKU was not. Anybody have any feedback they can help me with here?

Did you check to see your roku's sound options? Was your AVR set for Dolby Digital when using your Roku? If everything was working fine, I would uninstall the Apple app and reinstall. Seems like it's an app issue. I used a Roku 4k stick and had zero issues. Thankfully.
