The 2 Biggest Conmen On Ebay

Well, apparently people are still buying from them, and are still leaving positive feedback.

I wonder how many negative feedbacks my local Circuitycity would get if their corporate headquarters one day decides to put up a web feedback system. Their service is absolutely abysmal. And people still keep on buying from them. Go figure.

Yeah, you take a risk when you deal with a "machine" like that... Too many transactions to handle any glitches - and no physical store to make things right.

Bargain Liquidation I have personally purchased from. They are literally a liquidation warehouse. They know NOTHING about what they sell and they include pretty specific disclaimers that what they are selling is what is pictured and sometimes their descriptions are not accurate. This is quite often because model numbers are not listed outright on the product, so they are left somewhat to guess. It SUCKS for some, and some people do NOT get that concept.

But, in my one dealing, I picked up a 12x8 Extron Matrix switcher which MSRPs for a bit over $5,000 for about $500! I then flipped it a few months later for almost $2K. How? Their description was completely wrong, but the photo of the item was accurate. They are all about quantity, not quality.

But, literally hundreds of feedbacks left every day - that's pretty crazy.

Many of those ebay stores list items they don't know where they'll get the items from, or for how much. They list an item, then search for a better price - sometimes on ebay! Once its found, they'll sell it at somewhat of a profit margine. It's a bit risky, but has huge potential.

That's a pretty risky business scheme. Like dealing in shorts in the stock market.

Yep, be on the lookout. You can get awesome deals on ebay if you keep an eye open.

My latest one was for a straight razor and strop, $32 shipping included, from England. Given they were pretty basic, but any decent straight razor is worth at least $20, once you add in shipping it was like getting the strop for free. Yep, I decided to give straight razors a good try....pretty nice shave, and far more precise for going around beards than a Mach3.

AH..........another straight razor user, ive been shaving my head with straight razors exclusively for the last 20 years, either the straight razor peels a layer of meat off my head or it just shaves better.....either way i dont have to shave as much.

And I found another shipping scam....Office chair, buy it now of $1, shipping fee of $200. I reported every single one of those. That's outright fraud right there, ripping ebay off of their due cash.

...really, ebay needs to go through their buyers, and start fixing problems...we all know buyers are who gets ebay paid, but in the end buyers will leave once consumers get sick of the place....think back on yahoo auctiions, it was great for a while, then when yahoo quit dealing with the scammers, people started leaving. i got ripped off in there once, I ended up going vigilante and actually tracking the idiot down and showing up at their house.

...I did leave with the item, otherwise I would have gotten federal authorities involved for interstate fraud. Having real names and addresses makes the feds listen a bit more, since it's open and shut case work for them.

Ebay

is as much to blame. I've used ebay from time to time. They always seem to be looking for NEW sellers, with incentive programs and doing so with only the requirement of a valid credit card and email address.:)

Yup,lots of those type sellers on ebay,a few years ago when the x-box first came out my son was fartin around on ebay looking at some goofy stickers to change the color of the x-box & he asked me if he could by 2 stickers for their 2 x-boxes,i asked him what was the price.....their only $2.99 pop's he said so i then asked about shipping.........it says shipping's calculated after the auction's.

so i say why not,go ahead & buy em,i got an invoice from the seller showing $2.99 for each sticker then $29.99 for shipping, remember he bought 2 buy it now auctions so thats $59.96 total for 2 stupid stickers,i reported him to ebay & all they had to say was that i should of read the auction closer, buried in tons of useless information that went on forever this ********* stated that he charges a handeling fee for every auction & will not combigne shipping on multiple auctions.

i told him to stick it up his.... & told him that we could exchange negative feedback or just forget the whole thing,he chose to exchange negative fedback because his feedback was like 84,345 & whats 2 negatives to him,not unlike the selling strategy of the 1st seller in this thread who gives retalitory feedback.

Oh, and never, NEVER buy batteries off ebay...some sellers will sell you a battery that's completely different than the description, and even has the wrong capacity/voltage. This is common amongst online battery vendors as a whole. Buy from manufacturer or storefront only.

I bought two generic ebay camera batteries for my Canon S400 for under $20. OEM run almost $50 each. I've had them for years, and work as good as the original. Maybe I got lucky.

I also purchased bulk in jet cartridges for my Canon i250 printer off ebay. Shipping took forever, but they did come, and I haven't run out of ink. It sure beats injecting ink into those wells and spilling it all over myself.

I guess it is a bit off topic, but I've also bought those 'way cheaper' ink cartridges for my Canon i900D printer. Instead of $30 - $40 for all the cartridges, they are like $10 for all of them in bulk. They work great!

Maybe it's just my luck with batteries on Ebay, but everytime I bought laptop batteries from there, I have gotten burned, and usually for more than $50.

Either the bateries die a week or two past the 30-day "warranty" period, they are the wrong specs, etc.

Camera batteries, I have never had to shop for on there...I do my best to buy cameras that use AA batteries, then just buy a bunch of NiMH rechargable AAs for it. As a bonus, if my rechargables die, I can buy batteries for it almost anywhere.
