I've posted a lot of questions lately and gotten some serious help from the members of this forum. I got some RF cables from BlueJeans (who I hadn't heard of until I got several recommendation from this forum). They came very quickly and have a very solid construction. I wish I had gotten the RF filter years ago to reduce the hum on my subwoofer.

For anyone considering the RF filter, the sub still has some hum whenver the cable line is connected but it is drastically reduced (the hum goes away the moment I disconnect the CATV so I'm guessing it isn't a ground loop issue). The hum may be caused by the long cable run between the filter and the TV. Using the filter, the cable signal is slightly diminished - I couldn't give you an exact db loss or range but it is preferrable to the amount of hum the sub was making.

Thanks again!
