I feel for you guys man. You just inspired me to check on my mom and sis. How is it in New Braunfels? I know you guys had some flooding. Did it get any worse?

Here in DFW people are being crazy. There would be an adequate amount of gas available if people didn't panic. Price gouging is happening even though it's illegal. I'm glad I filled up yesterday.

We didn't get much rain. I think it was somewhere between 6-9 inches spread over 3 days. Rivers got close to flooding, but they didn't. Everything is normal now...except the fake gas shortage that has turned into an actual gas shortage.

Yeah, my friends from DFW all told me it was nuts. Same here though. People don't get that there wouldn't be an issue if they just got gas when they normally would. Now people that commute or use a lot of fuel for other reasons are going to be screwed.

I got gas today just so I could panic like everyone else. I didn't even need gas but I squeezed some in.

I will likely need gas by Sunday. It was just bad timing going from a 35 MPG SUV to an 8 MPG SUV...

When I saw the path Hurricane Harvey took, I had to wonder. First, the storm came ashore in Texas, wandered around a bit, went back out over the gulf (to tank up), and came roaring ashore to hit Texas again. When have we ever seen a hurricane do this?

Compared to other hurricanes, this is the meteorological equivalent of getting run over by a truck – then the driver backs up to run you over a second time – only to put it in forward gear and run you over yet again. Somebody must really have it in for Houston!

Yeah, the storm was supposed to drop 20" where I am (south of Austin) and we only got 6-9" or so. Couldn't believe Houston got hit like they did. Crazy.

What with changing weather patterns who knows, you might get it one of these days when not even forecast....

"only" 6-9 inches in such a short period of time is still pretty significant....only wish you could have sent it our way to put out some fires (Orygun)

I just joined this forum, and I am about to convert a game room into a music listening room. I live in Missouri City, and I measured 40" of rain at my house. We are behind a levee and had to evacuate, but flood waters missed us by a few vertical inches, but we were hit by a tornado a few days earlier and we lost all our trees and had some roof damage (will need a new roof) - most of our neighbors had broken windows, but we did not. I am ready to focus again on my music room after all this. I posted my music room "wants" in the newbie section of this forum.

Wow. That's a lot to deal with at once.

We are all good on the home front, except I would greatly appreciate some advice on my new music room - I posted in the Beginners and Audiophytes section. I am trying to decide on speakers first, then my architect daughter can design around them. I am partial to Klipsch, and I know many do not like them. I have been trying to find some Heritage line speakers to listen to, but in south & west Houston, everywhere I go they say they are too expensive to place in the showroom, though one guy tried to sell me a $6,000 pair of Austrian speakers today - somehow, they could afford to have them in their showroom.

Please check out my post - I am eager to hear a mix of expert opinions.
