I have had this thing for years. Been good to me till now.
When I turn it on it just sits there and checks disk till the cows come home.
Sometimes I cant even turn it off, I have to pull the power cord out.

I was hoping someone new of a hidden reset or something (yea a hail mary).
It seems looking on the net not many mega cd changers out there.

If this is EOL for this one I'd like to find another. Any out there that don't cost a arm and leg.

THanks

Mark,

Just in case you don't have the manual anymore, you can download it here (another site is here in case some of it is difficult to read). It contains a troubleshooting section.

I typically unplug a unit and leave it unplugged for about an hour to try and reset any electronics. It sounds like you might have something on the lens, though.

When the unit is saying "Checking discs" and neither goes further nor turns off (just says "Off" but doesn't), the reason is still the main belt (accessible from the top as soon as you lift the cover) that is too loose.
When the belt is way too loose, the unit doesn't move at all, if the belt is little too loose, the player-unit will move a bit, but there is not enough torque on the gears to reach the end position (where the player unit is secured against movements).
