:D Hello Everyone, I am Sam. I am a newbie to this forum.

I have a Sony System with a 100 x2 stereo receiver, full logic cassette deck, and single disc cd player in an old marantz cabinet, i got for a good buy. Prior to getting the larger technics speakers, i had the most usual technics speakers. I got them both for around 50$ AU.

The problem, as you will see in the pics, is that the veneer has cracked a bit in the corners or is lifting. The covers cant be removed but i accessed the speakers from the back.

I used Technics speakers for almost 10 years. They are part of my secondary system in my computer room/ den now. I would recommend stepping up to something a little newer and better. I was glad I did.

Hi Johnny,

Thanks. I did replace the woofer in the older technic speakers with a dia-ichi woofer and ritcher tweeterr. I put the pic below.

As for the tallest technics speakers, i noticed the difference that the Jamo OFC speaker cable made to the all round sound. I do plan in the future to upgrade the drivers, that is why i want to keep the speaker cabinet in good condition. I was looking at dyna audio or peerless drivers to use.
