technical help needed...

not sure if this is the perfect place for this question, it's kindof technical, but the subject IS a peavey power amp... anyways, when i test a capacitor on an ohmmeter, should it end up at a value, or should it bottom out to no resistance, and if it does find a number, how do i find where it is bridging? do i look for a resistor of that value? also, if anyone has a reference site, that has values for things like this, that'd be great... the subject, btw is a peavey escort 2000 powered mixer, it found some water a couple of months ago and completely fried the power supply, i got a new one from peavey, and it still won't work, but there's no smoke when you plug it in, so, i'm just kindof tooling around looking for something awry... any takers?
