Alright, I have a Teac AG-D8900 receiver, a set of Onkyo surround speakers, including a powered sub.
The sub only has a bass adjustment knob, line in, and power cord. When my sub is hooked up to the subwoofer pre-out on the back of the receiver, it doesn't turn on... ever. I've gone through all settings, turned all speakers on and off, changed front/center/surround to small and large, and even turned the subwoofer on and off through the receiver, nothing. Even when testing, all the speakers will play the note, but the subwoofer doesn't play (even when the receiver is sending the signal) But yet, if I plug the RCA cable into Audio 1 out, and change from Pro Logic to stereo, it plays, but then I lose surround.
My receiver gets the sound from my computer via an optical cable, and video from s-video. Would that have a problem when the subs pre-out is RCA? My DVD player uses regular RCA sound inputs, and it still doesn't turn on unless I plug it into the audio out, but yet again, I lose Pro Logic. Could it be a faulty pre-out?
