I have recently purchased a LG 42 inch LCD with the new version of HDMI
1.3a. Currently, I am now trying to research the audio side to complete my system. While I do not want to get rid of my unregional DVD player, I am seriously considering an avr receiver that can up convert the signal via HDMI to 1080p. Because I am not in the position to spend 1000k plus, I have narrowed down my search to the Harman Kardon avr-354, the Yamaha rx-v863, the Onkyo tx-sr706 and the Denon avr-889. By reading the fine prints among these 4 different receivers I have realized that 3 of them uses the DCDi Faroudja technology while Yamaha is the only one using what they call TBC deinterlacing. What is the difference, and which one of these highly rated receivers has the best video processor?
