Tara Labs any good?

I recently purchased 5 Tara Labs cables (they are listed as composite video but are to be used for DVD AUDIO purposes) and was wondering if I should know anything about them. I'd read that they got nailed selling foreign produced cables as domestics (therefore grossly overcharging) but to me that doesn't really reflect on quality. There are some incredible things coming out of China. What I want to know is should I be concerned? All they need to do is be of a good build quality to transport the DVD Audio signal right? Isn't a 75 ohm cable good enough? I won't get any feedback till tomorrow, but it will be greatly appreciated and I'll reply then. By the way i paid 14.25 Us for all 5 cables.

No problems there. Most audio ICs are made with 75 Ohm cable and terminations anyway. Unless you get hum problems or interference, then don't worry. And DAMN! That was a good price. I bet they look super spiffy too.

Thanks Jaxon, they look ok, and they are as thick as heck compared to some other cable I am using. I had to get longer lengths then I would have Ideally liked, but at the price I couldn't complain. I only got 200 series cables, not the really pretty stuff. The Tara Labs stuff I have all posess what they call a "shuttle". Essentially a piece of plastic that slides from one end of the cable to the other with an arrow on it. There is a space on the plastic for a label sticker and what you do is write the name of the component you are connecting on the sticker, then slide the shuttle to the end you are connecting to the receiver so you don't get confused, pretty neat cable managment IMO. I am getting these cables to give DVD audio another try. I had only tried one DVD audio (Metallica's Black Album), and I listened to it immediatly following The Eagles HFO DTS album. I was underwhelmed to say the least, and I unhooked the cables from my DVD player and never gave DVDA another thought. But now that I'm getting a new receiver and soon a new sub (I hope), I figured what the hey, let's give DVDA another whirl and let's do it right. I bought STP's DVDA and am not going to use it til I have the new system set up.
