Tapatalk ads starting in their own!

Does anyone know why recently that I remember the ads on Tapatalk start up and sound on automatically. I really can't stand it anymore! The freaking sound of the ad is just on. Never did this before that I remember. Is this happening to anyone else? Can we get it to stop?

I don't use Tapatalk, but I know the sig that pops up in every single post annoys some folks...
That's why I changed mine.
I think it's something like: "sent from a handheld device using a silly little app." :)

But after Apple changed the privacy process in their ecosystem, Tapatalk locked my app up until I went into settings... with their intention that I allow them full access to my info. Of course I kept them locked out, but they flashed a message about paid content and services and more adds.
It's a useful tool for getting photos into the forum which is why I used it. I fear it has now become much more trouble than its worth. Which was already almost nothing.

What else can you use? I can't even go to the regular Audioholics forum because it automatically or forces me to Tapatalk? I also didn't get notifications of new threads or posts.

I just use Safari for all my mobile forum adventures. I don't look for notifications to tell me something is happening, I just check in periodically when I have time and see if anything I'm following is updating. Plus, I have the Follow With Emails turned on.
Oh, thanks for reminding me... that Tapatalk takeover is a metric fkucton of bullshit. I never switch over and wish there was a way to turn that off...
Just short of deleting the App, which by the tenor of this conversation is likely to happen very soon!

I think it's probably to encourage you to buy Tapatalk Pro I think they call it. Kinda like youtube. I don't use tapatalk much (and realized I forgot to remove my signature when I started using a pad as well as my phone for such). I just turn the volume off if an annoying ad pops up or keep scrolling.....

I just use the Brave browser. Every once in a while Tapatalk tries to trick me into using it tho. I just click on continue with chrome (even tho its actually Brave, not Chrome).

FWIW I've never been forced into using Tapatalk, not even sure how that works. I do prefer using tapatalk on the little devices, use Firefox browser on my laptop mostly. This a peculiarity of using the Pixel 4XL and/or ?

No, I think I could delete the forum from Tapatalk and that would solve it. Tapatalk sucks but it is convenient unfortunately. I just want the stupid ads from starting.

I don't see any ads using my laptop/browser/AdBlock.....I do get them on Tapatalk and with sound off they're only noticeable when it shifts the page to accommodate the ad, and that's been more pronounced lately.

Android will recognize a forum post and offer to use Tapatalk or a web browser. If you have Tapatalk installed it will default to that program on its own until you reset the application settings. I use Firefox on my PC and Chrome on Android with Picture Resizer app to shrink photos by 50%. Honestly, I wish the forum would simply auto-shrink photos. You don't get the photo size too large message until after your photo is uploaded, so the bandwidth has already been used. Just install a simple server side script to shrink large files. It's not rocket science. :)

Ah, wasn't thinking of that feature of "how do you want to open this" feature of just once vs always....that makes more sense now. I'd guess its just a limitation of the forum software on the resizing thing (other fora have similar issues but maybe future editions of the various fora software will deal with it). I generally will just use tapatalk if taking a photo with my phone....but if I'm going to put the phone pix on my laptop then its easy to have a resized version for posting.....
