Oppo BDP-93 & BDP-95 On the Bench | Audioholics

"We ran both 192kHz/24 bit 6 channel and 96kHz/ 24 bit 8 channel Dolby TrueHD signals into both players and both produced similarly ruler flat frequency performance from 20Hz all the way up to the Audio Precision test gear bandwidth limitation (80kHz).

We also ran Bit Error Rate (BER) tests on both players using Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD test signals and both players produced a 0% BER which means both players delivered audio via HDMI 100% error free. Early HDMI products (ver 1.0 to 1.2) reportedly suffered from jitter related issues but HDMI ver 1.3 and above has completely eliminated jitter related issues thus ensuring bit for bit exact signal transfer from the player to the A/V receiver or processor."

In *all of our discussions* on potential distortions over HDMI, we are assuming perfection transmission of all bits. In no case am I including the cases where digital samples are corrupted. If that has happened then there is no doubt that you will get audible artifacts.

Amir is throwing Gene under the bus.
I think its more like a case of amir trying to drag someone, Gene or anyone else, under the bus to join him :D.

Trying to read his lengthy posts gives the initial impression that this guy must know what he's talking about. But that impression is only brief. His diarrhea of the mouth, accompanied by constipation of the brain, makes me believe that he's trying hard to make his ideas seem sophisticated by making them over-complexified and unreadable.

If he has a clear thought, why can't he say it clearly? Raising the signal-to-noise ratio, as he does in his AVS posts, is the opposite of clear thinking.

Oops! I meant to say lowering the signal-to-noise ratio.
