THANKS ALL FOR THE INPUT
PART 2 OF MY question IS WHERE does the nakamichi TA4A stand with newer Amps
I think it sounds good but would like other opinions on a 1 to 10 where would some of you rate this receiver. There was someone on the net that took his TA4A and beefed it up and sold it for 500 I think it was back in 2010 or later but it all sounded interesting yet greek to me.

I remember that the amps from the "Pass licensing" were very nice. Im sure the amp section of your unit is strong, and Nak did make nice preamp stages.

There is no reason to think your amp won't play as well as a current model. Choosing an amplifier for sound quality is not sensible. If it sounds good to you then it is good.
