System hook up part 2

I am looking for suggestions on hooking up a cooling fan system to my home theater set up. I currently have the following units. Samsung 52" LCD, Pioneer Elite SC-05, Directv HDTV DVR, Sony blu-ray and Toshiba HD DVD. All the units are in an enclosed credenza. To lower the heat in the credenza I purchased a Tech Pro cooling fan system with 4 small fans. What I need help with is how or what I need to have the cooling fans on a switched outlet so that it only runs when the receiver is on...........Any help would be greatly appreciated.........THANKS in advance.....

If your receiver has AC switched outlets you are fine. If it only has 12 volt triggers, then you need a 12 volt relay, that will switch 110 volt AC and have large enough contacts to handle the current of your fan system. I would put a cap across the switch terminals of the relay to contain the back EMF, especially at switch off.
