Absolute apologies if this shows up twice. Things got twisted up in attempting to attach an image.
Hello all. Been so long since I've been here again that I had to create a new account. Whew! Proving you're not a bot is getting more difficult.
So, onto the subject... I can't be the only guy that does this and I'm looking for some suggestions. For years I've maintained a system block diagram for my home theater/hi-fi/computing/networking. Because of my familiarity with Powerpoint, that's the software I'm using. I'm really tired of renting the office suite software. I could easily adapt to a new package if I could just get this diagram across. I've tried about 4 of the alternatives and it's always the presentation software that falls short for me. Main shortfall is the variety of line types I need because there's a dozen different line depictions I need (HDMI, speaker wire, etc.). This drawing converts relatively well into PPT alternatives, although they all would require some level of touch up after the conversion. But you quickly run out of line types and distinctive colors.
The easy conversion makes another presentation package desirable. But if I'm going to have to nearly start anew, I would really like to roll this drawing out of presentation software and into a drawing package. But it has to be able to integrate images.
I'm open to suggestions. I'll take a stab at including a .jpg of the drawing. It'll have to be shrunk a lot.
