Hopefully, this won't get anyone overheated, and I certainly don't want to open any old wounds. I know that there have been tons of comparos done by many people. Nevertheless, I'd like to know if anyone here on AH actually has A-B'ed in their home an SVS PB12ISD with an Hsu VTF-3 (or STF-3). And if so, what was your experience?

Many thanks for keeping this friendly.

I purchased my HSU VTF3 last winter after spending some time over at the SVS website. SVS has so many products that it's hard to judge the quality of SVS model B vs SVS model D, J, or W. When I went to the HSU site, I could narrow it down to 2 models within a few minutes which I found more satisfying. The half price shipping at the time sealed the deal. And the rest is glorious HT history. I never had any prejudices against either company, and I still don't. I was looking to purchase a better sub than my JBL without breaking the bank and HSU did that for me.

No, but I would love too just out of curiousity. Just order the PB12 and have it sent to my house and I'll A/B it for you when I get back. Of course I'll have to keep it as payment for my services in the comparison but then you know without a doubt which one is better when your ready to buy........again.:p

Well shoot howdy. For all the whoopin' and hollerin' about which to buy...NO ONE has done any A-B'ing of these two subs? (Except Craigsub who has likely tested EVERY sub made, lol.) C'mon guys...surely someone.....

Why don't you just order the PB-12NSD(/V) and do it yourself? I mean, 30 day in home trial, whats to lose? I would gladly BUY one and do it, but I can't. When I own one, I would gladly report my findings.

Uh, does anyone else find it unusual that no one has directly A-B listened to and compared these two subs, or that no one wants to talk about it?!

Okay, the next time someone says get an Hsu for music or an SVS for HT, or whatever, I'm gonna tell your mommies. LOL. :p

I've owned the VTF-2 and PB-10, and it was at the same time :D It was very close up top (above ~25Hz) - almost identical, with a slight advantage to the VTF-2. At the bottom however, the PB-10 was easily the winner.

Heard the PB-12, but have not heard the VTF-3 yet. There is a review by Ed Mullen, who's info I trust, comparing the STF-3 to the PB-12 and the PB-12 was the clear winner there. I'd expect the VTF-3 might be a closer match though.

A little...but not enough to fret over. It depends on who's reading the thread, if they can answer (are registered), and if they care to answer.

I compared the Paradigm Servo 15 v.2 w/ the B&W ASW750, and the 'digm was a clear winner. No conspriracy theory either. Cheers, rj.
