SVS Subwoofer help/suggestion!

Hello, folks! Newbie here, so this is my first post. In the summer of 2012, I bought some closeout Energy Veritas 6.2 towers speakers from Vanns.com. (later added a 5.2C center) and am using a Yamaha RX373 as a receiver. This is my first set up and decided I wanted to spend more initially for a decent setup (and hopefully save money), rather than replace gear later. I've been trying to read up on as much as a I can, but I am having trouble choosing a subwoofer. Here are my preferences:
- My room is roughly 14 x 20 with 8 foot ceilings (will be moving within the year)
-Watching mainly sports and blu rays with occasional music

I have been looking quite a bit at the new SVS line, mainly the easily concealed SB12-NSD vs the PB1000. I would prefer the smaller sub (SB12-NSD) mainly to be less invasive. SVS seems to be a leader in customer service, trade up options, and warranties and while I can't find much on the PB1000 in terms of reviews, they say the SB12-NSD is very impressive. Which of these two do you think is appropriate for my set up and why? I am also open to other suggestions as well. Looking to spend about $500-$600. I can't do a very large sub right now in terms of taking up space. (no 80 pound goliaths) Here is a link to the two subwoofers in question:

SB12-NSD - SVS
PB-1000 - SVS

Thanks in advance guys. Looking forward to joining these forums!
