SVS SBS-01 w/ HSU STF-1/2 vs. AV123 x-ls w/ x-sub

I was wondering which budget set is a better buy. Price difference is about $25 more for the SVS and HSU combination so on that aspect its irrevelant. It is for a small square room, 12x14ft w/ 9ft ceilings. They will be powered by an Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver. Also if the STF-2 would be a better fit for the SVS speakers spending $50 more wouldnt be a problem. As far as usage it would be something like 90% tv/movies (hd-dvd) and 10% music. I have a question? Why are you going with a hsu(this is not a knock on hsu) sub with the svs sbs-01's when better deals are offered by svs with their complete system packages. Currently, they are overstocked on white and silver http://www.svsound.com/products-sys-sbs_silver.cfm

The svs pb10-nsd sub is FAR superior to the x-sub and therefore a better option for home theather. I know the av123 products get a lot of attention for build quality and looks, however IMO the sub is without question the deal maker between the two.

Why not X-series speakers and an SVS sub? The X-series speakers are a bit better sound wise to my ears, and definitely win in the appearance category as well. The problem is getting them...

Wow that is an awesome deal for the sbs-01 with the pb10-nsd. Thanks for linking that find, I guess its really a no brainer now for which system to buy.

Then again, how about the brand new AV123 MFW-15 sub? It costs $600 and is just hitting the market. It'd go great with any x-series speakers--or just about any speakers. It's on my short list.

If he listened to more then 10% music with his system I would also recommend this option. But since music is rarely listened to then the SVS total system is my vote.
