Hi I have a question about what subwoofer I should go with in my movie room i want 2 of theme either sb2000 sealded or pb2000 ported. Which ones would you think would be the best in my movieroom..? The room size is 21 feet long and 10.5 feet wide and 6.5 feet to the ceiling.
(224ft².)
And the room is quiet, very dead i have a lot of damping material on walls and floors and a large fabric sofa.
Dont want a boomy room or to much overwhelming sound youst a lot of chest punch and a great movie time..:) watching
Movies 99.5% of the time not a lot of music listening

Hope you guy's can help me deside..:)

Ok thanks
How big differens in sound is it betwin pb2000 and the pb12..?

And you also Thing ported is better then sealded in my room size..?

Best regards peter
The PB-2000 has more power so will have a little more input. As for your 2nd question, I've owned both sealed and ported SVS subs and IMO ported is better overall. Ported will have more output at most frequencies and is every bit as clean as their sealed cousins.

Pb2k. As mentioned. The room is not small(not huge either), and if you want chest punch sound, the sb2k won’t do it. The ported sub will also reach lower, and do it with much more authority. The nsd is the former version of the “2000” series.

I do believe you’ll notice a difference, although unless you have both to compare you won’t know what your missing. I had an sb2k in my system and although it was mixed in with 2 big ported subs, it just didn’t add much of anything. When tried by itself, and in a smaller room the SB sounded great, but it’s just not an output monster. It might be worth an email to SVS for more technical differences between the pb12 and pb2k but from what I recall, the updated driver alone is worth the upgrade. Iirc, it has more driver protection too. It will only be too much bass if you run them too hot. SVS subs are linear, not boomy so I don’t see that as an issue. Plus they have in home trial.

The PB-2000 should have about 2 to 4 dB more output than the PB12-NSD, depending on frequency. That is a pretty significant headroom increase, 30 to 60% increase in amplitude. However, you can get two PB12-NSDs for only $200 more than a PB-2000, and that would be a pretty good system.

If you intend to listen loud, than yeah, go for the 2000s. You might think about the PC-2000s by the way, if they have them available in Sweden. It has the same performance as the PB-2000, but it is a lot lighter and has a smaller footprint.

I can’t believe I forgot about the PC’s. Good call shady. There also easier to move around.

I can get the Svs pb12 here in Sweden also for 720$ cheper then the pb2000 and im talking about 2.
Is the pb2000 so much better then the pb12 so its worth 720$...? If it is i can absolut Think to pay that.

I talked whit a guy at svs and he told me that.
Going dual will help with the room being dead. It will smooth everything out. Ported subs in a space that size may sound boomy or a bit overwhelming. With that being said, you never know what you’re going to get until you get the product in your system.

My recommendation is to go with the Sealed subwoofers and if they don’t fit your needs, go ported. It would really surprise me if you aren’t satisfied with the SB-2000s though. J
