SVS SB 1000 Pro - Speaker Level Inputs vs. built in Amp

So, the SB 1000 Pro from SVS has SL inputs to drive the sub from a power amp. Why? If you have more power from an external amp, can you run this at a higher power rating than the internal 325W power amp? The next sub up in the SB category is the SB 2000 Pro which has a 550W amp but no speaker level inputs. If I get the 1000 model and send it 550W is the the same as running a 2000 with its own amp? I wasn't able to find this documented anywhere. Also, what would be the max RMS and Peak that the 1000 will handle from the Speaker Level inputs? I can't find this info.

Speaker level inputs are there for folks who don't have LFE outputs or bass management. Either way you connect it tho, the sub uses its own onboard amp.

Yes, you're misunderstanding the use for high level/speaker level inputs.

Ohhhh, ok... that makes more sense! Just odd that the SB2000 doesn't have these inputs. I know my Sony OLED has a speaker level input so you can use the Glass display panel as a resonating panel speaker. This way you can use the entire surface of the TV as your center speaker...

Some subs have them, some don't, more often people have sub pre-outs to use these days rather than older gear without....sub amp features/capabilities simply vary.

I wonder how loud can a tv panel/speaker get let alone how good the fidelity might be?

I tried it when I first got the TV... it's a 77" OLED, Sony A9G. I tried using it for the center channel with my Harman Kardon 5.1 setup. the surround speakers are all the same size, (pretty small) and so was the center channel. The volume level was fine, but the issue I think is more so that the panel doesn't match the "voicing" of the center speaker in comparison to the surrounds. I should have tried running the receiver's calibration but I didn't bother at the time. I may try this again when I get my Atmos setup done. Still in the planning phase, hence the questions on the SB1000 Pro. I'm planning 4 x 12" subs or 4 x 15" subs... not sure which yet. Definitely "multi sub" in the 4 corners of the basement (concrete walls).
