Hello to the community.
Which subwoofer do you suggest for my living room?
My living room is 2.80 m x 4 m. The extension(dining room) is + 2.80m x 4 m long. The kitchen behind is about 2m x4 m long.
The other parts of the system will be 2xsvs prime bookshelf+ 1xsvs prime center + 2xsvs prime satellites for surround.
The usage will be 70% movies, 30% music. I read many good reviews for the pb1000 but I am concerned if it gets 'boomy' in such a small space as my living room. What do you suggest?

I would say PB1000. Do the sub crawl and find the best spot for it. Try to keep it out of corners to cut back on the boominess.

Considering that you have a good amount of open room volume, I would urge you to up the budget to the 2000 Pro series, and regardless of that: GO PORTED!

Boominess is going to be because of poor placement (like hard up in a corner). Most modern subs of the quality we like to recommend here are not inherently boomy.

Regarding the size of the Sub:
Unlike speakers, the Sub will work on the whole open space, not just your listening "area." I am not suggesting you try to pressurize the whole open space, but all of that space will effect the performance of a smaller Sub like the PB1000.
Also, with the PB or PC 2000Pro, you get more options for tuning the performance of the Sub.

Agree with the Rec for the 2000 series. It’s kore subwoofer than your neighbors will like, but they are better overall.
The 1000 is definitely good though, and should not be boomy unless you have a setup/placement issue.

That area is relatively small so ask yourself if you want to clutter it up even more with the depth size a PB has. A PB1000 is 20" deep and add at least another 1" or so for cabling in the back. I would venture to say people would be tripping over them in that area regardless of where it ends up. So while most people recommend performance I would recommend a balance of performance/functionality. A SB2000 is smaller than a PB1000 or PC2000 so maybe try dual SB1000's and if it's not enough then go with the SB2000 but don't nerd out in a family room and get speakers way too big for it. That's like wearing your dad's shoes as a kid cause you want to feel like an adult.

Additionally, if that's where you're placing surrounds there's no point in owning/buying new ones. Far too close and high to do anything, focus more on your front sound stage and with an area that size I wouldn't even get a center channel. Hell I have my L/R speakers are 9ft apart with no center so as long as you have speakers that can properly image you won't need a center channel. So save your money and upgrade to the L/R Ultras then subs of your choosing and be done.

Pb 2000 pro is an option if placed at the middle of the room only ( between living room area and dining room area). Would you suggest a pb2000 pro placed only at this spot or maybe go with sb2000 pro that can be placed next to the tv ? Placement of sb2000 pro is more flexible. Is pb2000 pro good for mudic too? I noticed it can be used as sealed too, using rubber gaskets.

I believe you could also use the PC-2000 Pro on its side if you want a low profile, but it’s long. I have one vertically and it has a tiny footprint but tall and it tucked into a corner and calibrated.

By Aesthetics side, I like more the sb/pb 2000pro versions. Could you please answer if I loose performance by placing a pb2000 pro between dining room and living room , compared to an sb 2000 pro right next to the tv?

There is no way for us to guess the Acoustic performance of a Sub in your room.

Do you already have a sub that you can play with? If so, try the Subwoofer Crawl.
It is a crude technique, but it will also teach you a lot about how Low Frequencies will perform in your space.

And yes, it is possible that the better performing location for a Sub could be outside of the immediate listening 'area' in a larger room.
