so i am moving into the new house in 3 weeks and I am excited to hear how my pb12/plus 2 sounds in the new room. I am nervous because the size of the room is 24x16 but thats not what concerns me, what concerns me is how tall the cathedral cielings are in the room  It is a vaulted room and its gotta be at least 20+ feet tall in the middle of the room.
I am hoping this is enough sub to power this room.

It's probably enough, but you better get two Ultras on order just in case. :D

Outside of thoughts that you'll get here, I'd recommend e-mailing SVS about it. They'll be upfront and tell you what they think about that sub in a room with that volume.

IMO, it should be no problem ... you could place the sub nearer to you if you feel it's insufficient.

24x16x20=7680 cubic feet (then you deduct the parts of the ceiling that are not 20; high) the room is sealed right?

or you can buy some new subs :)

thanks guys, another sub is out of the question. When my wife saw the size of this sub she couldnt believe how big the sub was.
the room is not sealed, it has an opening in the back left portion of the room into the kitchen. I am going to try it in the front left corner of the room and if it lacks feel then i will try moving it closer to the listening position.

I doubt his room is sealed, much less can it be, much less does it matter...
Correct me if I'm wrong....

Sounds like a great room... guess what.... I have the same room only a touch bit bigger, but on the plus side my friend, you do not have a square room or a rectangle room which is in your benefit, the benefit in which you will gain, less issues of cancellation or null's, which means in the end.... Less EQ to get Flat. I started with a single Plus/2 in that same size room and then added a single driver Plus, and it balanced out quite well, but in the end I swapped out that single Plus for a second Plus/2. I have a very good amount of bass now, but IMO, let me restate IMO, its not enough.

Let me add that I have a bedroom setup in a 1700^3 room with a JL F112, and that sub provides me with the slam, impact and tactile feel that I am not getting in my gynormous Great Room.... Not sure what else to tell you, but everyone else's idea's to contact SVS will help you... they will steer you in the right direction. They told me up front that I would likely need 2 Plus/2 or Ultra/2's, but even for me that is not enough... Many would argue, but I am a bass head... :)

Time for you to start thinking about dual sealed 18's... DIY... they are smaller then a Plus/2... and will kill in that room...

Make them into end Tables...

well, since you have no option for a new or second subwoofer, i must say that i can't imagine a better subwoofer to have at that size than the plus/2.

i think even svs says that the plus/2 is louder than the Ultra at 30hz up?

My room is 35x30 w/13' celings, and an opening to a dining room, and my single Plus/2 does an excellent job. When I had (2) of them together in that same room it was insane.

I've heard a regular 25-31PCi and a Plus each in rooms larger than that and they kicked butt. Sometimes a larger room works to your advantage.
