Whoops, I thought you were asking about the PB-12Ultra.

But that thread should give you a good Idea.

Both are competent subwoofers with comparable performace. The upside to this is that I doubt you'd be disappoined with either. A win/win situation. Go with the one the fits your room, your budget, and your tastes. The EP500 fits in my limited space which was too small for the SVS. YMMV.

The PC Ultra is a tube....only 16" of floor space needed....it's why I bought one :) I haven't listened to an Axiom sub, but the PC Ultra will rock your world with movies and with music, the only way you know it's on is to turn it off....seemless.

yeah, I like the small footprint of these two. i figured that there'd be enough axiom owners in this forum to air their opinions.

Having done dozens of hours in blind listening tests between a PB12-Ultra and the EP-500, this is what my opinion is:

From 22 Hz and up, the EP-500 is a much better performer.

From 18 to 22 Hz, they are pretty close.

From 15 to 18 Hz, the SVS pulls ahead.

Mike - I got it, and answered it earlier. I did not place your nickname there with your real name here. Now you can check to see if that answer matches this one ... :D

this real name is taken already over there :)
sorry to be a bother, but I have not yet received your email. I PM'd you my email add again just in case my fingers tripped while typing it before.
I didn't think you logged in here regularly.

so knowing what you know now ... and you can only choose one sub between the two ... which would it be?

Craig, Its the PCUltra, not the PB-12Ultra.

sheep, he's the one that started that other thread regarding the listening tests of the PB12 Ultra and the Axiom EP500 - so he might not have experience with the PC Ultra. like you said, it's close enough.

Sheep, I know that, however they share the Same Driver, Same Amp, and same native tuning.

I would grab the EP-500. I got your PM and forwarded a copy of the e-mail to the address you sent here.

I got your email now, thanks.

what the axiom got going for me right now is the 220v and that it is readily available in Canada (free shipping).

the SVS however has an even smaller footprint. and boasts of a lower extension

Mike, shouldn't you wait for your subwoofer to arrive in the first place?

or did you cancel the order?

still waiting for that order ... this is for my second sub :)
I like the fact it fits the space in between the tv and front speaker. im actually considering downgrading the 15R to a 12R if this one falls through.

oh well. if the 15R would just arrive, I'd be done with this.
