Just wondering what everybody thinks of this sub. Does anybody own one? It will be going in a 15x30 great room with 9ft ceilings and is open to kitchen and staircase/entry way. Will this sub suffice??

It's a great sub, one of the most popular here. Should do just fine :)

That is a good sub, but it will have a hard time presurizing that large of a room.

I have a room 2 times as large, and I have a Plus paired with a Plus/2 and like I just said in another post, they struggle at times in my really large room...

What is your setup in that size room going to be... just for casual listening, or powerful movie experience..?

For the latter, I would suggest at least 2 of those subs, or 1 Plus/2 or possibly something more... I as well as many here will suggest dual subs for that size room to smooth out response. If that is not possible, go for something larger.

What is your budget, and what are you looking to accomplish here...

It's a great sub, but I think it might get lost in a room that size. I'm sure it would still perform adequately, but might not seem awesome. Buy two for $1,499 right now.

I would like the best movie experience I can get for under $1000. I am checking on the dimensions of the room right now. Ouch, the room is actually around 20'x35'! Need advice!!!

Hard ceramic tile floors, drywalled walls

Okay, I have talked with SVS thourgh e-mail and now I am trying to decide between the PB12-NSD/2 and the PB12-Plus/2. I am looking for the best bang for the buck option. Any body have a vote for either, remember the Plus/2 is going for $1200 shipped right now and the NSD/2 is going for $900 shipped. Thanks for any advice fellas!

I'm also looking at buying a sub. Check out the $1,600 Epik Conquest before you make your final decision. I was going to buy the DefTech Trinity for $2,000. But now I'm checking out the Epik Conquest.

The Epik Conquest is said to produce TWICE as much bass @ 20Hz as the $15,000 Velodyne DD-1812 and FIVE times as much bass @ 16Hz as the $10,000 Genelec HTS6!

Especially since you have a very large room, you might do more research.

Now were talking... When I said that sub was going to be a touch limited in that room size, I wasn't that far off....

Deffinately go for the Plus/2... for better SQ and performance...
That sub is amazing, I love mine even though I push it too hard... but in your size room that will be a monster !!! And let us not forget, they are really great looking... Oh and don't forget to watch the B-Stock Page if your not in a hurry, they frequently have great deals there.. https://svsound.com/store/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=12
