Is there a better sub than the SVS PB12-Plus/2 for the money? The SVS is $1,199 on the SVS website.

Sheep Audioholic Warlord Mar 15, 2006 #2 Its been argued that, No, there isn't. I would say no, judging by its numbers. But, I would advise looking around, and waiting for more replies. The only thing that can best that for the money(IMO) is a DIY sub, which involves work. SheepStar

Sure, any other SVS sub. That's a mighty sub for a small room. It all depends on the size of your room, listening tastes, etc... The PB12/2 is an awesome sub for $300 less, and the single Plus sub is a great sub for a smaller room. But for $1200, IMO, you can't do better unless you build one yourself - especially for home theater usage.

C Cavediver Audioholic Mar 15, 2006 #5 "Look at the HSU VTF3 HO/Turbo sub." I just did and it doesn't appear to be available in the US. Additionally, it appears to cost a whole lot more. "That's a mighty sub for a small room." The room is not small. It is a long narrow open room which encompases the living room, dining room & kitchen, (13' W X 47' L X 8.5' H). It is approximately 5200 cu. ft. total. SVS recommended the PB12 ISD/2 as a minimum, but indicated that the PB12-Plus/2 would be better and the Ultra 2 would be ideal.

D DOJ Enthusiast Mar 16, 2006 #7 I have been extremely happy with my SVS PB12+2 . For the money it seems it is hard to beat for HT and total output . For music you may want to look at the UFW-12 as well . Incredible sounding sub . I'm using both in my system with great results .
