Recieved my SVS sub yesterday
5 days from order to delivery

i havent calibrated it yet as i am having trouble playing my AVIA dvd w/my sony dvd player.
it gives an error code (clean dvd) but i can play it on my pc no problem.

anyway, all i can say is this sub is just incredible.
it puts out an insane amount of bass.

my wife came down and said "i hope it's not always going to vibrate the walls".....i didnt have the heart to tell her the sub was just barely turned up.

its a large room about 3500 sf w/concrete floor under carpet.

at low volume levels, watching movies is an entirely different experience.
im still playing around with locations.

if distortion free bass is what you want this sub will do it with ease.

i think svs's smaller subs would do it for most applications.the pb12/2 is quite large.i wouldnt think of putting it in my living room but the smaller subs with a nice finish would make a nice end table.

.....great report, Scott....a new piece of equipment every now and then is good, and SVS don't play......

Hi Scotty,

Thank you for posting your impressions of the SVS PB12-isd/2. Although a good setup disc like AVIA tends to work best(for calibrating)---you can usually get good results from using the built in test tones in your receiver too. In any case, please feel free to email me if you have any questions with the setup or calibration of the PB12-isd/2.

Receiving, installing and using a SVS sub for the first time is like making a major discovery. It is simply amazing and much more than expected.

I used the crawling method to find the proper location for the sub. Upon receiving it and getting it out of the box, I placed it immediately at my listening location, installed a CD and crawled to different places to listen and made up my mind within 15 minutes, tops.

Then calibration of the entire system with SPL and AVIA.

very true
even at low levels the LFE when watching movies is really awe inspiring.
