Which sub is best all round, especially movies.

I have a Onkyo 705 amp.

1317 cubic feet if im not mistaken ...

i'd go for the PB10, i dont think you need the extra output of the Velo 12R.
plus you get the benefit of a lower tuning with the PB10

I have the PB10-ISD and its awesome. It can shake the whole room, and cause cracks in my wall and ceiling :D

I'd also go with the PB-10. Former owner here, and it is a very good sub.

yeh i have decided to stick with SVS subs.

Choice between the PB10-ISD or the PB12-NSD.

So i guess you guys will still point me towards the PB10?

The PB12 is overkill?

any more info why, like effects i will get between the two at that room size.

PB12NSD will go even lower :) (20hz for PB10 and 18hz for PB12)

i've always thought the price difference between the 10 and 12"er was much too small to consider the 10".

there's really no replacement for displacement :) 12 over 10 ANY day

i have both btw.

plus the fact the 12 has more connection options for integrated amps, highpassed outputs, etc.

But for my room size will the PB12 be overkill?

in other words produce to much bass.

Thanks, i will go with a 12" driver then.

I am swaying toward the cylinder subs for aesthetic reasons.

Performance should be on par right as the box.

Might get a PC+

I hear ya. I have one of their cylinders, and I picked it based on less weight and the aesthetics. It's pretty impressive in person. Definitely something people will notice (if you want them to) when you have them over to watch a movie. With a smaller footprint than the boxes, mine fits into my system just great. It's definitely taller than a box, but that wasn't an issue for me.

If a Plus is an option, I'd step up to that for sure. It is worth the upgrade. I do like the cylinders also.

would like to but in Australia we pay double what you pay, the PC+ 20-39 is around $1899 (AUD).

I am paying $1275 (AUD) for the PCI 25-31, but it's cool, will have to deal with it if we want the quality of SVS.

In OZ we have only one importer DeepHZ Audio, they stock the PCi 25-31, PC+ 20-39 and the PC Ultra.

Mind you the PCi 25-31 that they import are tuned to 22hz, so there really 22-31, lol.

Plus my place is small, 370 W x 350 L x 300 H, so i think the 25-31 is sufficient.

If i get a bigger place later i can always get another.

The 22-31 is an "unofficial" model, they can be ordered that way any time. The 25-31 has the most output of the PCi cylinders, so I am sure it will be more than sufficient :)
