Fast question is the upgrade from a 2000 pro worth it to go 3000 and why.

Searched the web found no answers let's fix that.

Have you read the reviews?

SVS will often recommend the 3000 series and I read an article somewhere their engineers often debate which is better, the 3000 or 4000 which tells me there must be something to the 3000 if that's the case.

Well it really depends. Why are you interested in an upgrade in the first place? Deeper extension? More output?
Do you have a PB2K pro already? How many? How big is the room? Movies or music?
Short version to your question would be...
The 3000 series is very special. But at 60% more a pair of pb2000 pros would be a better solution, and cost a little more than a single pb3000 after multiple sub discount. You would gain headroom, but more importantly if you have room to place them correctly, better FR potential. This can many times be more important.
Not really that simple lol. Room size is also a huge part of the equation.
Singe pb3k to single pb2k pro? The 3k IS better, but it’s MUCH more expensive so....
it depends!

Personally I am already ordered 2x PB2000pro and for the price adding another two is easier to handle than 2 more 3000.

This topic was inspired because while I was doing my sub investigation I was between monoprice and SVS ( after hours on reddit svs cs is worth the world over monoprices hit and miss)

Anyway I noticed that anytime someone asked if they should get the 2000 or the 3000 99% of responses had been A) get 3k or B) get another brand.

But you guys did great once you add multisub the reviews don't matter (meaning two lower price vs one higher price) for the price of one 3k you could almost get two 2kpros ($300 more) and that I feel is the better product. Both in output and price performance

Thanks for pulling on clutch audioholics. I hope this thread helps future buyers and home cinema is blowing up thanks to covid and king vs godzilla is coming out on HBO max so everyone get your subs ready!!!

I watched and its a killer sub almost as good as the PB 2000 pro just not as much power output very impressive, would be perfect for rooms around 2000 cubic ft

Yeah, certainly impressive. I would like a pair of SB-3000 but thats way out my budget. Thinking about building now. Although I like the low end of ported, it'll be for 50/50 music/HT-living room so I feel the SB-3000 would suite great.

The sealed is great but only go for it if it's a size issue with the ported one, the port is silent from what I have read on reviews and you can even plug the ports (port plugs included) and run the sub in sealed mode. More options is better imo specifically if you have a measurement mic then fine tune the sub as for fast slow port sealed and sealed is better for music that's been debunked
