SVS PB-13 Ultra going smaller

So, I moving and my current home theater set up has to be downsized...

Been out of the market for the past 3 years (since I purchased my current PB-13 Ultra) and was wondering what smaller subs are out there that are best in class.

Learning my lesson from this one, I am going to go with something much lighter and portable in case I move again.

Build a sealed 18" TC-Sounds LMS

Driver to be found here... TC Sounds LMS Ultra 5400 18" DVC Subwoofer 293-666

Power it with a EP4000 and get an EQ of some form

Build a 3.0 cu ft box - roughly 21 x 21 x 21 inches

Jump for joy, that you have the best sounding highest output (for sealed) product you can get. All for the price or a bit less then a new Ultra 13....

The very smallest most portable subs can be found at Subway. It's a Friday ...

Ok, I'll get serious. The problem with going smaller is that one sub will not give you the low end or the impact of the beast you currently have. Therefore, plan on having a couple of smaller ones. If you stack them in a corner placement, you can get 6dB of room gain and it will help somewhat. What this does to the smoothness of low end FR depends on the room modes and their intensity.

The PB-13 Ultra is 27Dx20.5Wx22.5H" and 155lb. Here are a couple of "smaller" options that I have read positive things about,

HSU VTF-3 MK4 25Dx17.0Wx21.5H" and 90lb
SVS PB-12 NSD 22Dx17Wx21H" and 66lb

try unscrewing the amp and driver rduring the moving process and rescrewing em back in. otherwise i recommend this lil beast;

Velodyne's MicroVee should give you JUST about the same output & deep bass as your Ultra-13 in a MUCH smaller enclosure.......Seriously!!!!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'm not interested in building anything from scratch but will continue to research some of the options pointed out here.

I checked out the Velodyne MicroVee and certainly looks good on price and portability.....just not sure how large a room it can fill.....guess I could always get 2
