SVS Outlet Sales + rumors?

USA has Presidents' Day holiday, celebrated this year on February 15
essentially a mash-up of Lincoln/12feb & Washington/22feb
(because it
was too much to celebrate both, like when I was a kid).

However, SVS has suspended the usual Outlet List with the message:
"Come back Tuesday, February 9 at 9:00am EST for our Presidents' Day Outlet Event."
Feels like that date was selected to handle the END of Christmas Returns...maybe new releases, too???
SVS has a nice 45 day return policy (Christmas + 45days = February 8)

ASK -- Does anybody have experience with these kinds of sales by SVS? Maybe bigger outlet reductions than usual?

ASK -- (RUMOR elsewhere: SVS 1000 Subs getting a PRO Upgrade) -- Any history on SVS new model launches? Maybe big discounts on "superseded/lesser" products?

Be Safe!

Yeah they often end up discounting the non PRO version by c. $100 from the original price, which in the case of the PB2000 versus PB2000 PRO meant that the PB2000 was $600 on sale versus the new PB2000PRO which is $900.

So I wouldn't be suprised to see either:

1. The SB and PB2000 non pro back in stock on sale at 500 and 600 respectively, and or
2. The 1000 series discounted if they introduce a PRO version.

I think #1 is FAR more likely than #2, since usually the PRO would be around a while before we start seeing the discounts on the NON pro.

I read or heard something too about a 1000 pro series upgrade.

I emailed them about a 1000 Pro and their customer support said they aren't informed about product development so they couldn't confirm.

Quite the selection, however they opened the page at 8:55 and the PB12 NSD, PC2000 Pro, and a few others I was interested in were sold at by 8:58.

Is it just me or are some of the prices for outlet items HIGHER than their black friday prices for NIB units?

I'm not saying these are not a good deal. They are. I was just being greedy I guess!

I love me some SVS, but these outlet prices never got me too excited for their big sales. That run on the 2000 series when they went pro ws pretty awesome tho.

They did a small restock. I got a PC2000 Pro for $699. I figured no harm in trying out the sub for free for up to 45 days. May be excessive for my apartment, but before I order a monolith or HSU, I figured try the free and easy return one.

Yeah that was my mentality as well. No harm in trying and if it works out.. it works out!! The pb-1000's for $399 sold out in like 10 mins though. Was gonna pick one up for my brother and POOF gone.

I suspect it won't be going back, lol. That's a pretty solid sub even for large-ish rooms. I came close to buying one last year.

Some great deals for Prime Pinnacles in there still! I've bought from the outlet before. Three gloss Ultra bookshelves. The small marks and blemishes were difficult to even find. There was one we never did find the mark. They were, for all intents and purposes, brand new speakers to me. They've helped me outside of their bill of rights a couple of times too, with a free replacement grill I had bent and offering to let me trade up well after a year when I was considering a center channel.

It's pretty sweet they show you the picture of the blemish too. I opted out on a blemish and got a no damage pb-2000 pro , I mistyped the model earlier. And I already requested my foam plugs so I can play around with all that. Finally took the svs plunge, decided not to go with rythmik because svs customer service just seems too good to pass up.

The hardest part about some of BLEMISH PICS was that they didn't show position -- GACK!
Many were close-ups that didn't give context...who cares if most of the bottom or back edges are crinkled?

I already have a pair in my big room...
got a 3rd PB2000pro for another system (my Monolith 10inch is great, but gets relegated to smallest room).

I'm feeling a little bad about starting this thread if you are the guys that beat me out early!

I went in at 9am and saw my first few choices SOLD OUT!
Eventually got a hit, so all is good!

SVS has announced the SVS 1000 Pro Series (the rumor on the first post in this thread).
Looking forward to any coming reviews/metrics.

Either a great new option at the $500/600 (sealed/ported)
*OR*
Opportunity to buy the non-Pro at close-out.

Be Safe (and Get Low).

The PB1K Pro looks like a legit level up! Has a 12" driver, 2 ports and I like the way it looks better too. This puts it more in line with the VTF-2 MK5 in performance and value, maybe even a better value when you factor shipping. I pulled both of these charts from the respective sites. The PB1K is the black one.

The VTF-2 chart is with 1 port open, EQ1. I chose that one because that's its deepest extension mode. The PB1K chart is both ports open. I don't think it has a different EQ mode but the app controller would make up for that. Port plugs available free on request, but I didn't see anything about using them to tune it? I dunno. Still checking it out.

I might have a new first pick value sub to recommend now!
