I love that SB16-Ultra driver! Hmmm, I'm certain I could make it blend with my PB13s.

Of course, it makes me wonder if they plan on releasing a ported 16? Now that thing would be sweet.

They sure look Nice but the MSRP of the SB13/16 is outta my league...:(. Still considering upgrading my pb10 though....:D.

I can't imagine how heavy a ported 16" Ultra would be, the 13 already breaks my back, and the sealed 16" is still 40 lbs. lighter than the PB13 Ultra.

Pricing seems a little high...and what's with the +/-6db on the 13 & 16? That 16 isn't little either. I wonder if a non-DIY ported sub of basically the same size would/could output the same volume and quality for less money? We'll have to wait and see if the SVS track record holds up. Let's hope so for the non-DIY crowd.:)

I'm sure they will perform well but if I need something(s) small and powerful I'll PM WmAx and DIY something for a lot less. (Leave it alone Alex!;))

Subs look nice, but I agree with others - the pricing seems a bit high when you look at some of the other great subs out there.

Rythmik immediately comes to mind, and still occupies the #1 slot on my wish list.

I noticed that too. Typo maybe? They took a pretty good shot at JL in the description of the 13, so maybe they're just trying to match specs. That would be an unusual move for SVS though

That 16" sub looks like a monster at 100+ lbs.

Pfft. 15" LMS driver for $550 from SoundSplinter (RL-S 15) + Behringer EP4000 amplifier + Behringer DCX2496 + Pre-Fab/Pre-Finished cabinet from Parts Express or other sources. Cut your hole for the driver. Mount it. Hook stuff up.

For about $1200 you will have a sub that will decimate the SVS. I don't think their driver (which I'm sure is great) is going to match the LMS.

I expected a response like this, and I agree wholeheartedly that DIY offers more bang for your buck (excluding the value of one's time and effort). Although I prefer DIY projects, I celebrate SVS's effort to put out quality products for each price bracket. I look forward to seeing some reviews in the near future.

I am certainly interested to see what this other model is that they are talking about by weeks end...

As for the sealed designs they have -- they look quite nice -- but the quoted MSRP pricing does seem high with the SB13+ being the same price as an PB13-Ultra which is a little disappointing as I was hoping to replace the Ultra I just sold with the model...

Hopefully there will be more info by the end of the week on what is to come...

I do agree that the estimated MSRP seems a bit high, but I'm sure they will have preorder promotional pricing as they usually do.

Not to mention SVS superior customer service both before and after the sale. That is, these guys truly do want to make you happy and will do their best to achieve that goal! ;):);)

I'm looking forward to these subs being released. I want to upgrade my HT, but have a limited amount of real estate to work with, so one (or two) of the new offerings may fit the bill. Right now my best options seem to be one of the SVS cylinder subs or a JL fathom.

i thought about that, but there are two kinds of people that will lap up the SB subs ...

1) those who don't have the space
2) those who consider sealed subs to sound better
