SVS 5.1 And 7.1 Systems Up And Running

Finally!! The 7.1 is rockin'. Even better than the 5.1 (and it sounds gorgeous). No doubt likely due to the STS-02 slim tower mains and SSS-02 bipoles. Very accurate and uncolored. Clear, open, and pure sounding. Did I say accurate? And the PB12 sub reaches waaayyyy down low for both music and theater (watched "Tremors" through it yesterday). As I stated in my previous post I couldn't be happier. I'm very confident of my choice and my investment for both systems. Outstanding customer service too. Emails are often responded to within minutes...certainly within a couple hours. Extremely knowledgeable people. What's not to like? Very highly recommend SVS.

The STS-02 are really slim but from the pictures they seem to have some kind of base attached that makes them no longer slim. Can that base be removed?

I would imagine if you remove that, they will not be stable if they aren't on a level surface, because they will be top heavy.

They're slim even with the bases. And they sound killer. But, like j stated, they'd be unstable without the bases. I suppose you could remove the bases, carefully drill some holes in the speaker cab, and mount them on a wall. They really are slim, bases included.
