surround speakers

hey fellas, i would love to know what is a good choice for surround speakers to go with my rx-v 659 and my jbl e80 towers. I have a pair of jbl n28ii and a pair of bose 301s. Are any of these good enough or should i get rid of them? My budget is about $200

thanks av. but please tell me which is better to use as my room is best suited for a 5.1 system. i have already wall mounted the jbl n28ii speakers but they look so huge in my 10' * 14' room. Also, which way should i set up my system? ie. should i place the speakers along the long wall or the short wall? Thanx again bro.

Most speakers will seem large in that small room. Since I don’t know your exact room layout, I’d suggest you look at the room layout guidelines in the Yamaha manual, pg. 12, and place the surrounds accordingly.

my room set up is kinda weird and cause of this my sofas face each other along the long sides of the room(14'). This means that i cant sit directly facing the front speakers; but side ways, if u know what i mean. The only way to sit directly facing the fronts and tv is to place them along the long side which puts me much closer and also puts the surrounds much closer to the fronts.
I am getting the chance to upgrade to the denon avr 3806: is this a good upgrade? (i read conflicting reviews on this model)

Your room setup looks good if the N28s are facing each other. In your small space, the 659 should be plenty. Any upgrade money would be better spent on acoustic treatments if that’s an option.

Thanks a mil bro. I was almost at the point of getting the denon. But tell me, exactly what kind of treatments should i use? there is a window behind the tele and ceNter channel and also behind the left sofa.
