Dear Gurus

I have the A870 connected to the following as 5.1.2 ( but no sub)
  1. LR -Floor Standing - B&W 603s 2019 - Set to Large from MLP - Distance 13.6 Feet
  2. C- B&W HTM6 - Set to Small @ 60 Hz- Distance 13.6 Feet
  3. Front Heights - Polk OWM3s - Set to Small @80 HZ- Distance 15.6 Feet
  4. Surrounds - Bose 301 Series V - Set to Small @ 60 Hz- Distance around ( Left 7.4 Ft & Right 5.6 Ft)
  5. No Sub woofer due to some constraints
For the most optimum settings for Movies i.e Clear Dialogues and reasonable Bass
a. What cross over should i set the speakers to as the YPAO sets the surround speakers to Large
b. For the best Atmos effect, as i cant drill Over the MLP, would it be right to put them as Front Heights
c. Would it make a difference if I place my Speakers as FH BUT in the avr put them as Overhead
d. I have bought a cheap SPL meter for learning- Is this to be used after running the YPAO

Thank you and be safe

Rajesh

Personally if using a good sub I'd set all speakers to small. With no sub you do not have 5.1.2, tho. If your speakers need protective high pass filters then maybe I'd use bass management features but I'd really just get a sub, since those speakers are simply inadequate.

HI- Thank you. While the sub is currently not an option, I am out of depth here when u mention "protective high pass filters then maybe I'd use bass management features " - Would it mean that i tinker around with the features in the avr like Extra Bass or basic Treble and Bass.
Also if i set all to small - should i set it up to 60Hz or 80 Hz
Happy Easter

Setting crossovers without subs is effectively setting high pass filters for your speakers. I'd simply run the speakers full range myself. I probably would also get rid of the B&W and Bose speakers sooner than later....
