Surround Speaker problem Denon AVR-1508

Hello,

I have a Denon AVR-1508 AV amplifier. Some days ago the sorround right speaker it stopped working correctly when in surround mode. I can only hear low ambience sound, while the other surround speaker works ok.

If I change to 5 channel stereo, everithing works ok.

What can be done?

I'm curious as to how long you've been listening to movie sound as opposed to the ubiquitous "all channel stereo"* modes because what you're describing sounds perfectly normal.

Movies rarely utilize the surround channels aside from ambiance sounds and the occasional SFX. The "all channel stereo" modes will digitally kerfutz with a two channel signal and send "something" to all of the speakers all the time.

If your problem is with only one of the surround speakers, then once you make sure it's not part of the source software itself, perhaps the receiver need servicing.

*or whatever that particular manufacturer calls it.
