Surround sound?

I have just set up my first home theater in my family room and just fish taped flat speaker wire under my carpeting for my rear speakers. I am ready to make adjustments. What is the best way to adjust surround sound speaker volume? Is surround sound a mater of personal taste or is there a formula to follow?

what receiver do you have ? does it have a mic ?

setup is personal taste. i run the mic calibration, then adjust to my taste.
