Surround sound setup help needed (pictures of room included) for onkyo Ht-s7409

I did a lot of research (this forum and others, reviews, etc) and decided on this setup based on the good reviews of the (post-recall) receivers and their quality above and beyond normal HTiB setups and because I will be upgrading the speakers as I save for them in the future. I read the FAQ but the shape of my living room has me second guessing placement of my speakers due to the weird walls, distance from the couch, etc.

Below are two panoramic pictures of the room I'll be setting this up in. This is a rental home so I won't be here forever but I will be running wires through the walls for this setup. The wall behind the television is 20' 4", the distance from that wall to the wall behind the couch is 14" and the height of the entertainment system is 6'6". The distance from far wall to the other on either side of the couch is 30'.

If I left out any other important measurements please let me know. The pictures can be moved and yes, the twinkly lights were the work of my girlfriend haha:) Thanks in advance for all your help I've been lurking here as a visitor for a while.

The television is a Samsung 60ES7100.

Here are the room diagram and a front view of the entertainment system. Please let me know if I forgot any measurements.

Sooo... $2000 for TV and $500 for sound system... Not what I would call balanced HT approach...
The panoramic photos are intriguing but alas not very helpful (at least not for me) - an only school overview diagram with measurements would be much more useful.
with 10 minutes of work you can make it even in MS Paint. Also normal front and properly illuminated photo of your media cabinet would help as well. Preferably one with TV off and showing ALL areas around the TV

yea I know there's a discrepancy there. I splurged on the TV and decided I could upgrade the audio system as I go (i grew up with a house-rocking denon-klipsch combo at my dad's house). For right now I hope this will do. If I install it and it sucks, I'd be open to sending it back and starting over or even getting a couple new speakers immediately as long as the receiver is OK.

My biggest concern is the placement of the rear surrounds, since there is no wall that is outside the couch listening area, mounting behind the couch would always exclude the right and left seating positions. Are the far walls (9', 10') to either side r/l too far to mount them and still get good sound from them? I was considering mounting them at 6-7" on opposing walls and angled towards the seating area.

Lets start with easy ones - center should be mounted on wall/shelf right above the tv. Front Left/Right On speaker stands on left/right sides of media cabinets angled towards center (back row) of couch. The sub should go somewhere right on rear wall (ideally below the tv, but could be moved left or right of media center)
Now to hard parts - sides and rear surrounds: you have only two choices with them - stands or ceiling mounted (and angled down ) and the 2nd option is much worse
Since this is a rental I assume you'd want to go with stands. Position them closer to couch area

I would highly recommend to run auto-setup on your system after you placed and connected the speakers
