surround sound from PS3 to kenwood reciever?? please help

i have a kenwood VR-806 reciever (the manual says vr-806 krf-v5080d)

i have a PS3 with an HDMI cable going to the tv. i then connected a digital audio cable from my ps3 to the reciever, however i cannot get any sound, i assume theres something wrong with the setting on the reciever, but i have fooled arouns with it ans changed the settings on my PS3 to send the audio through the audio cable and i still cant figure it out

can anyone help ?
