I'm sure this has been asked a million times -- I really tried searching but could not find a clear answer - my apologies in advance.
I get it that the surrounds should "envelop" the listener. And that ideally they should be placed 2 feet above the listener's ears on the side. My question - should they be angled down towards the listener (so an imaginary line from tweater to ear) or fire directly across (the imaginary line would cross 2 feet above the listeners head)?
Also, for the rears (7.1) -- I can only mount them from the ceiling (they are not in-ceiling speakers - rather small bookshelf speakers). So my plan is to mount them 2 feet behind the couch using swivel mounts hanging from the ceiling. Should I angle them to hit the listener (again, imagining a line) or should they fire a couple feet above?
Thanks in advance
