Surge Protector?

I need to buy a surge protector for my system I am putting together. I know nothing about his other than I need to get protection for all power supplies and the cable coming in from the outside. Any suggestions on companys, models and places to buy? I would love to run to circuit city or best buy and grab what they have but dont know if I would be making a mistake?

Don't know much but I do know that Monster Power is very expensive for the amount of protection you get. I seem to remember that panamax offered good protection for a good price. As far as models go I don't have any experience with any as I fell for the monster power before I knew about the better alternatives. Also look online once you find a model you might be surprised how much better the prices will be to CC or BB.
