I'm not in the uk and to be honest i have particular interests towards JBLs and Paradigm both for their designs, price and quality I have listened to both but I only owned JBL Bose, yamaha & velo.
If it's not that important to you then just get an Infinity Primus set or something low cost. Most Ah folks have a more particular expectation from speakers than the average person.

If You are looking for high quality, design and good price you should definitely look closer at Wharfardale, Tannoy and Mission brands.

You should read few good articles here in AH University on how to listen and shop for speakers... Grab your favorite CD and try to make sure you're listening different speakers at same volume.

Given you provided us your budget in gpb - everyone assumes you are in UK and give suggestions according to your budget as good local brand is most of the time preferable over imported one.

I own a set of JBL Pro monitors, yet I'll be the first to tell you that most consumer level JBL stuff is not that great

KEF Q900 is an excellent speaker, but KEF Q900 theater set includes an 8" "subwoofer" - this would be sub-optimal for HT experience in larger rooms
Shall i forget JBLs then and go for KEF? dunno you are the experts!

How about excluding the sub woofer and go for SUB 25 - Welcome to the New Official Paradigm® Website.

Dunno then, I will try to listen to the KEFs too but I'm unsure if I should go for a complete system package or choose all the components independently?

I heard positive comments on both brands so honestly I don't know what to go for.

go cheap on the surrounds you don't need massive ones. The JBL cinema ones are amazing, but not necessary. 4k on a Paradigm sub would be a crime. You could get a lot of sub for that much.

I'd like to stress a point that was made earlier. Speaker selection is a very subjective thing. All we can do is tell you what we think is better, and that may completely disagree with your thinking. The only way you're going to figure out what works for you is to go and listen to the speakers yourself. If you think the JBLs sound good and look nice BUY THEM. If you listen to some KEFs and find them to sound better and look nicer BUY THEM INSTEAD. Look for help here as more of a guide away from mistakes instead of a guide to the speaker that is THE BEST for you, as that is something only you can decide.

+1

I agree, advice can only get you so far. You're the one who has to shell out the cash and live with the purchase. I'm no expert, and some of the guys above are extremely knowledgeable, but in the end your ears and eyes are all that matters when it comes to shelling out your hard earned money.

Do you mean the ones I mentioned in my first post?

And not only that but I will use my system to play music too not just surround.

Thanks for all your suggestions but like many other things brands do make a difference I haven't got much experience on the audio aspects I try to take note of your advices but I can't make a decision on my own when it comes to buying. The reason is very simple maybe I will like the KEFs when I sit down ad listen to them for 20min in an audition and then maybe I will be disappointed dunno could be the same with the JBL's, but as I said before I am that kind of person that likes both quality and power at the same time and with my pair of Jbl e90's I never had issues with that. The Jbls I mentioned on my first post are slightly bigger and should satisfy my needs as fronts probably i will go for something smaller for the rears.

The only thing is that when it comes to surround than its a complete different story its not just a pair of speakers that come at play but in this case 5 or even 7 with Kefs I'm sure that I will be satisfied too, but one last thing from all your experience and knowledge in terms of both power and quality for both surround and music playback what would you go for?

I trust your advices so if its either one or the other I will just go for it, my ears cannot preside your experience in Audio.

Rippyman you have got a really nice setup and even the price is not too bad for such amazing HT, is there anything you can complain about also how does your setup perform when it comes to music playback of various types.

Also why did you choose to use two different subs and not of the same size?

And sorry if i may ask what was the total cost for the speakers?

Thanks!

I have almost no complaints about my setup, music and movies are absolutely amazing.

I don't think there is a better brand out there for movies.

I run dual SW-112's, and they lack a little. The SW-110 you saw is for my 5.1 system for the kids.

I paid about 10% above cost.
