I just bought a house and am looking to set up a home theater system in the family room (approx 24 x 17 sqft) My wife does not want to have big floor standing speakers that ruin the decor of the room, so I am basically limited to in-wall speakers or speakers that can be mounted to the wall around the television. The television is a 55 inch LCD that is mounted right above the fireplace. The surround speakers would need to be in-wall or in-ceiling speakers.

So far I have purchased a Onkyo TXNR 808 and Polk PSW505 subwoofer. I am looking for suggestions for the front speakers and the surrounds. My budget is approximately $1000-1500 for the speakers. Any suggestions from the "experts" are appreciated.

For the front channels - left, right and center.
The EW30 speaker was designed to be mounted directly onto a wall, and coordinate with flat panel displays. The EW30 may be used for stereo, or can be used in surround sound applications such as left and right front channels, dedicated center channel, and as surround channels. The EW30 on-wall speakers ship with a pivoting wall mount bracket. The bracket also comes with a mounting template that includes a level bubble, simplifying your installation.

For the surround - look at these

Your wife will love Kef XQ series in Khaya Mahogany.
Get XQ20 front, XQ10 Back, and XQ50c center.
Give them a chance, many dealers put them down, because they don't carry them or because they have to keep a minimum sell of B&W or they'll loose their contract!
I have B&W all around in my (wanna be theater) and XQ10 for my music.

Also, B&W makes the DS3 for rears, they go right up in the wall, they are dipole, then you could get 685 fronts with HTM61 center.
Anything you buy, no matter what brand, make sure they all match. Same series. Don't mix series, don't B&W CMs with 600's Or Kefs IQs with XQs Or Paradigms Monitors with Studios.
Choose one.
The sub, is a whole other beast.
I hear B&W subs are pretty bad. Get Paradigms, Or if you listen to music, get Sunfire, Matthew Polks real line of speakers. (forger Polk Audio, he is not there anymore)
I tried Paradigm Seismic, and supercube 1, the paradigm had that low, low.
but the supercube had the volume. I couldn't decide, So I had to step to to Def Tech Supercube Reference, it had the low lows and the volume.
I cant use it more than 1/4 turn up on the volume, is too much, my room is 26 x 14.
