Suggest good, eq-able preamp to match pair of Behringer A500's for stereo?

OK, I'm sold on trying a pair of bridged Behringer A500s, one for each channel in a stereo setup.

ROOM: is large 26' wide, 56' long, 10' high (it's a photography studio/camera room)

SPEAKERS: a pair of Focal Chorus 716S 91.5 db sensitivity, 130 w rated, 200w max, 8 ohms impedence

SUB: M&K VX-760 10" sealed powered sub

A single A500 could most certainly power the pair of speakers since the M&K sub is handling the low end quite well, but considering the size of the room, I think I'm going to really need the extra power which TWO bridged A500's will provide to fill this room with sound (it's a photography studio/camera-room). Is it crazy to have that much power with these speakers?

What do I need from a pre-amp output impedence to match the low input impedence of the A500 power amps? Don't want to spend a lot of money on the preamp, but want ability to adjust the eq to my taste (I like to be able to adjust treble & bass levels). The only input source will be an iPod.

Any suggested preamp models to meet this need?

Well, if you will use an EQ between the pre amp and power amp, a good location for it, then make sure the EQ has a low output impedance, 1000 Ohms or less perhaps?

Ive heard this many times from ppl. over the years .
Try and find a Tube pre amp ( but this couldbe costly ) , matching a Tube amp with a SS amp is supose tobe close to heaven :) .
If your on a budget , look for a Carver CT-7 or C-1 . Very Smooth and warm sounding pre and they go cheap now days on audiogone or ebay ( mostly under $150.00 US , somtimes under $100.00 if your lucky ) .
Note
The Dont go for the newer Carver stuff , its made for movies 1st and music 2nd and there is a difference in the sound of the Pre 's , i know i have the CT-7 and the CT-17 , the CT-7 is much better for music .
