I am running a home theater with Infinity Refenence Studio (Very high end in their day) front and center speakers. The front speakers each have 12" low freq speakers. I would like to add a subwoofer to enhance to available lows. But I am not sure what to add when I already have two !2" speakers. Now the amp driving them isn't all powerful. So just adding a powered sub would help.

But I would be interested in recommendations on what sub to buy for a 6800 cubic foot room with the two 12" speakers in the system. Also where would you set the cross over?

You will want to see how low your speakers actually go. You will need a sub that can go from about 15Hz to alteast the lowest of your speaker (usually it is more). You can set the crossover by playing around the point between your subs highest and your speakers lowest frequency settings.
